Eton Mess

Eton Mess

There aren’t many dishes that I think of as traditionally English but Eton Mess is definitely one of them. I mean when someone told me that the national dish here was Chicken Tikka Masala I bursted out laughing; that doesn’t even sound English. Surely Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, a roast dinner or even an English breakfast would be more suitable for such a title? But then again stealing and appropriating is something that the English do well, no offence.  Continue Reading…

Summer Tales in London

Summer Tales in London

Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing especially when it means your friend’s pregnant friend has to give away her tickets for a summer event in London and then on Friday night you find yourself at Summer Tales.

Piña Colada Ice Cream

I am not exactly sure how I came about attempting to make Piña Colada Ice Cream but I do know it first started when I received an ice cream maker from my Dad. I had been tempted to buy one sooner but I thought either one of two things would happen: 1. I wouldn’t use it and it would end up collecting dust in the kitchen or 2. I made Ginger Ice Cream quite a while back without an ice cream maker and I can tell you that in this case machines do make it so much easier, even though they are not essential. I knew I wanted to make a tropical flavoured ice cream to take me back to the shores of Jamaica but I wasn’t sure if I should go rum and raisin or piña colada.

Mimosa | The Yummy Truth

Mimosa | The Yummy Truth

I love brunch! It is probably my favourite meal because it allows you to eat everything and anything regardless of whether it is morning or afternoon. I love eggs, whether they’re scrambled, fried, boiled or my favourite, which is poached, and by the time I have finished brunch I no longer need to eat for the rest of the day since I have had eggs at an otherwise inappropriate time of day, I have enjoyed something heavier like a steak then ended with a dessert, while drinking continuously for 4 hours but not been accused of being an alcoholic and still look like a classy lady. There is no successful brunch, in my opinion, unless there is alcohol (unless you are pregnant or on medication and are enjoying virgin cocktails) and this Mimosa recipe is really good because of the addition of a third ingredient.
