I’ve lost count of how long we’ve been in isolation in London, but with each day comes the need to eat and considering I am used to working 16-20 hour days on my feet I’m not accustomed to thinking about meals. I’ve noticed lots of people have been baking whilst we’re on lockdown but we only had one egg left in the house, after boiling 2 dozen that we took from the restaurant and freezing them so they didn’t go bad. Luckily to make 8 scones you only need 1 egg and 20 minutes.
Until a few weeks ago I had never heard of White City, but the week I ate at Endo’s I had visited this area 4 times, although the previous visits did not prepare me for the dining experience I was about to embark upon that evening. The restaurant sits atop the Television Centre; after exiting the taxi I managed to shuffle across the forecourt in 6” boots making it just in time, which is crucial as all 15 customers are served at the same time.
Although austerity has been declared dead and apparently we are all benefitting from increased wages & lowest unemployment since 1975, I think we all want to spend less and get more. After sampling some gins, whiskeys and rums at London Cocktail Week’s Village at Truman Brewery, then squashing berries for Greenall’s berry gin it is easy to work up an appetite. Continue Reading…
Before I set up my own restaurant for Sunday brunch, there’s a place I’d like to share with you that does amazing breakfast/brunch every day called Milk Teeth. I’m always really excited when quality restaurants and bars open in South London because it always feels like the new exciting spots end up in East London somewhere but maybe I’m just jealous.
