I’m not sure how much Cinco de Mayo means to you. I mean to me it is an excuse to indulge in Mexican flavours and lots of Tequila. Probably more popular in the States than in the UK, the Fifth of May, also called the Battle of Puebla, is a holiday to celebrate the Mexican military victory against French forces in 1862. I’ve visited Mexico City once and I don’t remember learning a thing about Cinco de mayo but I was very distracted by pyramids that I thought got lost from Egypt (I was young, don’t judge).
