Salmon Pate

December 11, 2013

From a recipe that created a bit of smoke last year to a recipe that presents no such risk, this salmon paté recipe is delicious and perfect for the season. My dad doesn’t eat chicken so my chicken paté recipe would not work for him but this salmon paté is no longer in the fridge because he just couldn’t stop spreading it on bread, crackers and even pita bread. I must confess I even spread it on a crumpet this morning just so I could enjoy the creamy texture, smoked flavour, balanced with zesty lemon juice.Salmon Pate

I am guessing a few of you may be hosting Christmas parties and this recipe will make you the best host for a few reasons; since you can make it in advance it takes a weight off your shoulders giving you more time to spend with your guests, you’ll be under less pressure which will contribute to a positive atmosphere and you can be known for delivering delicious bites.

If you aren’t hosting any fabulous soirées this holiday then you may still have use for this recipe this season. If you are having trouble thinking of an unusual Christmas present a homemade food product, nicely packaged, makes for a wonderful gift. I for one love receiving things I can eat as a gesture of anyone’s love and appreciation (and I know there are other greedy people in the world who would agree with me ;)). Whip up this salmon paté in less than five minutes, pop it in an attractive jar, tie a ribbon and thank me later!
